Merida!!

I'm resurrecting my blog for this summer's round of traveling. In case I haven't spoken with you in awhile - I'm taking an intensive Yucatec Maya course this summer. Me and my 10 classmates (diestuul eetxook - I'll be dropping in the Maya here and there!) took three weeks of class in Chapel Hill and now we have three weeks of class in Mexico. We're in Merida this weekend, but in an hour or so we're heading south to Santa Elena, a small town where we will live in a hotel and have class in the morning and conversations with native speakers in the afternoon. That's all for now - I have to run and pack my bag and get on the bus! Below are some pictures I took yesterday - we went on a super dorky but fun tourist bus tour of Merida. There are some beautiful old buildings here....
